Here Comes The Sun tabs and video Beatles

This has long been a favourite among acoustic guitarists and it has one of the most distinctive openings of any Beatles tune.

This video lesson is to learn what I call a 'Performance' Version. This means you can play this as an instrumental 'standalone' or you can sing along to it (the audience will) or you can play it along with other musicians . . .and it will be warmly received by all.

This is all played fingerstyle and so favours a steel strung acoustic guitar (though you may think differently)

One of the parts of this song that has confused people in the past is the little twiddly run during the chorus.

I've seen this tabbed in so many different ways on the web and some of them have been virtually unplayable by mere mortals like us but . . . my version of that section is very easy and sounds just great.

Also included in this lesson is a much slowed down video of the opening riff.

If you don't have SloMoDirecto® to slow your videos down then this section will really help you figure out what's going on

George Harrison wrote Here Comes The Sun  in Eric Clapton's garden using one of Clapton's acoustic guitars. When the Beatles' manager Brian Epstein died in 1967, the band had to handle more of their accounting and business affairs, which Harrison hated. He wrote this after attending a round of business meetings.

The instrumental break is similar to "Badge," which Harrison helped Clapton write for his band Cream.

This song was inspired by the long winters in England which Harrison thought went on forever.

John Lennon did not play on this. Around this time, he was making a habit of not playing on Harrison's compositions as the two were not on the best of terms. The two eventually settled their differences as George contributed quite a bit to Lennon's album Imagine 2 years later.

WILL I BE ABLE TO LEARN THIS SONG?

I don't know how easy or difficult you will find it to learn 'Here Comes The Sun' but I can give you some guidance.

The only problem you should find is the timing of this piece. There are no difficult chord positions requiring brute force, no 'F' chord and no Barre chords

If you decide to give it a try and you find it just too difficult (or too easy) firstly you can email me for help. If that doesn't work and you feel you've made the wrong decision to buy it then let me know and maybe I could suggest an easier piece which I would send as a replacement or I'll arrange a refund for you.

I'm sure you can see that this is a brave offer on my part but . . .  I really DO want you to be able to play these pieces.
